Maryland, so far, has been one of the most successful states at controlling the virus, but, unfortunately, it is on the upswing, as was expected when the Fall weather got here. In Manhattan – not now. There was a decent possibility when the Hudson Yards redevelopment was being planned (one could have been built on top of the rail yards alongside the convention centre[1]), but that foundered because of political & public opposition. There’s nowhere else on the island big enough to consider it now that’s complete. You could maybe build somewhere in one of the other four boroughs, but it’d need to be on a site with good road & public transport links and have plenty of space for parking (somewhere in Queens would be the best spot in that case). But why would you want to? The Giants & Jets have a lot of shared capital sunk into Met Life Stadium and though one could leave as soon as 2025 (and have the opportunity every five years thereafter until the lease on the land finally runs out after 97 years), the logistical & financial hurdles are too sizeable.
