However, I think Prescott could play himself out of a job if he continues to really suck, but the problem there is if the team continues to win, they can kid themselves into thinking he’s the guy. The issue is the Cowboys are so talented, they can win ball games even in spite of Dak Prescott. Prescott wasn’t all that great against the Chargers, but Dallas managed to secure a 20–17 win. The defense and special teams by itself could’ve destroyed the Giants and Patriots. The reason this is a problem is there’s a great psychological phenomenon in football where QBs get credit if the team wins and blame if they lose regardless of the team’s correlating level of talent. I’ve seen relatively intelligent people who know a good amount of football think that Dak is the guy when I strongly disagree. Football is as much art as it is science and there are some people who are no doubt baffled as to why other people can’t see why the Mona Lisa is such a great painting and many others can’t understand why it is versus another painting of the same time frame.
