If memory serves me right, the Cardiac Pack National Champions 1983 shirt and I love this BJP won barely two and a half months ago and the current government is less than two months old. They delivered upon their manifesto commitment – the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A. With Article 370 no more applying to J&K, Article 35A becomes null and void. With this tremendous earth shaking move, the BJP has unified most of the nation (people + political parties) and decimated the opposition. Even within the opposition ranks there are divisions. Very acidic critics like Arvind Kejariwal and Chandrababu Naidu voted in favour. Whether what was done is right or wrong, whether the way it was done was right or wrong, is not the issue. The nation agrees with the move and including yours truly.
If the Cardiac Pack National Champions 1983 shirt and I love this elections were held today, I wouldn’t be surprised if BJP achieved similar numbers are Rajiv Gandhi did in 1984. This will have nothing to do with the Hindutva agenda. But for once, people have started believing that here is a party that can deliver upon its promises. They said that they will do it, and by God, they have done it. Even sceptics will fall into this line. Of course, one can’t please everyone and the ‘tukde-tukde’ gang will suffer. However … Winston Churchill had said ‘a week is too long in politics’. If a week is too long, then five years is an eternity. With all the euphoria and chest thumping, anti-Pakistan slogans, one shouldn’t forget that the economy is in dire straits. The economy woes will have far reaching impact. Today is just a trailer. Picture abhi baaki hai doston. (The feature film is yet to be screened). Unless these macro and micro economic situations are handled quickly with confidence boosting measures, all this what happened this week will be forgotten.
