Finally, NFL players weren’t EXPECTED to be on the field during the playing of the National Anthem until the early 1990s. The anthem was part of the pregame festivities – and at the END of the anthem, the 2 teams came out onto the field. Frankly, I think the best idea would be to return to that – and let the media focus on the antics of the crowd during the playing of the anthem. Have you gone to a live sporting event. The play the National Anthem, people continue you talking, making runs to the bathroom, getting in line for concessions. Honestly,I would gladly stop them. I don’t dislike patriotic display, but I hate, hate to the highest point when politics meddle in sports, and start criticizing, and indirectly or worst directly, accuse players of being anti patriotic. Oh, he don’t sing, so he is against his country and is not worth playing for it! Bad French/German/American… plus he is black/Arabs/other countries origins, so he us not a real citizen, not one of our own…
