But visa interview or not.. you should always wear clean clothes though…that’s a common “sense” which is not common to everyone but I think it is to any government official You should dress as you would dress for any business interview in which you want to impress the interviewer with your honesty, professionalism and sincerity. Ever heard the term “dress for success”? You know when your going to attend a job interview you want to impress right? So you’d put on your best suit right? Now with a consulate interview, it is not a job interview however yes you should dress appropriately not to casual not to business like unless your applying for a job as a director of a major company I would not dress in a fancy suit. I’ve been to lots of visa interviews and most people do not dress up in suits or wear ties they just dress neat that is all that is required, a visa approval will not be based on how your dressed so just keep that in mind.
