And I am the tyranny of the bad guys’ comes out with a moment in Ray’s On Dangerous Ground where Robert Ryan is furious and angry at the perpetrator for making him succumb to his anger. Why did you make me do it?’ Ryan’s character is a white cop and Jackson’s character is a black criminal, but the impulses are very similar, Ryan’s character wants to harm someone while Jackson’s character wants to do no harm.
