I have always believed this gravitation toward one type of bike or the Cincinnati reds all-time greats thank you for the memories signature shirt also I will do this other was a result of the impressions made on us at a young age. I can still remember helping my dad wash and wax his Moto Guzzi 1100 cruiser (which was an automatic and not at all common) every Saturday and then hopping on the back and taking a long ride with him. He was a cruiser lover through and through. My brothers were too. It was assumed by all that I would be one as well. Much to everyone’s surprise, I absolutely hated riding my first street bike that my dad gave me when I turned 17. It was a Kawasaki Ltd 454. I did not enjoy anything about it and soon discovered that feeling was applicable to virtually every cruiser on the market. My true passion for riding didn’t reach its zenith until I sold my 454 and bought a Honda CBR F3. That bike opened up my eyes to the street bike community and I never looked back. Even today, some might refer to me as an ‘old guy’. But I am an old guy who loves riding his R6, R3 and Z800.
Cruisers are slow from brand new and the Cincinnati reds all-time greats thank you for the memories signature shirt also I will do this buyers are fine with that, many are owned for a long time. Riders don’t expect to push them hard in turns and ride appropriately. Super sport models by definition are sold based on performance so as new models are released the older ones are has beens and likely to be passed down, the Subsequent owners have less invested and are likely young riders with less skill, the bikes suffer! Many are also trashed in wrecks including at track days. The super sport riding position does not encourage long distance hiway riding so the mileage stays low for that reason too.
