Well, as at the Marvel Spider Man 2 October 20th shirt but in fact I love this 8th September 2022, we don’t. We sing, throughout the United Kingdom (not just in England), God Save The King. And we sing this song because it’s a patriotic song that is used as our de facto national anthem. Prior to the 8th September, we did, indeed, sing God Save The Queen. See, it changes depending on whether we’ve got a king or a queen regnant. Currently, we have His Majesty Charles the Third, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and of His Other Realms and Territories, King, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith. His wife is Her Majesty Queen Camilla, the Queen Consort. Their Majesties acceded to their titles following the most recent Demise in the Crown.

She is also the Queen of a fair few other realms and dominions as well, but let’s not complicate matters. The UK national anthem was originally ‘God Save The King’ it is a customary national anthem not backed by statute law, but by custom and tradition. It is changed from King to Queen whenever there is a Queen Regnant on the throne as has been the case since 1952 and was the case from 1837 to 1901, when Queen Victoria reigned.
