The NHL used to play with mostly white jerseys at home, and a dark color for the Playoff saquon barkley shirt but in fact I love this road games. Not because the team played well, but because silver and black were more popular to be worn than various esoteric colors. A prime example of this is the Philadelphia Flyers, or the Pittsburgh Penguins, who used to have home whites and away jerseys in orange (flyers) or yellow (penguins), but changed the other colors to be black. So the Flyers jersey just traded orange for black, and sales shot up. Same with Pittsburgh.

The NHL implemented a mandatory visor rule for the 2013–14 season and only players with more than 25 games experience at the start of the season could elect to continue to not wear one. Yes they do. As soon as officials begin working A program hockey (bantam A, AA, AAA, midget A, AA, AAA), junior A, B, C, university, college, and higher officials are expected to dress at least in a shirt and tie with dress pants or whatever the players are expected to wear. So if the players are expected to wear suits so are the officials. It’s about appearing respectable. Jerseys and socks are washed after each game. When a team is on the road, they will usually use the home team’s facility to wash the uniforms. Depending on the team’s schedule, equipment managers decide whether to wait until the team’s next destination to do the laundry, do it after the game at the current arena (if the team is staying overnight), or wait until they get home to wash the jerseys (if we are on the last game of a roadtrip, we will pack everything after the game and the equipment guys will do the wash when we get back home). Teams go through 2-4 sets of jerseys per season, excluding special edition uniforms.
