The reason for this was that being a lifelong Mansfield Town F.C. supporter I and my two sons went down to Wembley Stadium in London that day to support Mansfield Town (aka “The Stags”) in their League Two promotion play off final against Port Vale, eagerly expectingg our team to win and gain promotion to League One. However the match was won 3–0 by Port Vale, which was the worst result of the season for the Stags, who put in probably their worst performance of the season. By half time the writing was already on the wall for Mansfield Town already 2–0 down and having had a man sent off, with no complaints from me about the referee’s decision to send him either.
Just before half time I tried to keep my sons’ spirits up by telling them that if the Pro-Life U Colorado Christian University shirt besides I will buy this Stags scored a goal now, it would be a completely different game in the second half, but of course by then I knew there was no way back for our team. Indeed if I had been watching the match alone I would have left the stadium at half time and taken the tube back into London to take the opportunity to do some site seeing or shopping, because I do not visit London very often.
