Trump targeted precisely this group of brainwashed Fox viewers. He spoke only to them, he pretends to love them and care about them (in reality, for all his life, he was exploiting exactly their kind of people, with his Trump condominiums and Trump university and Trump casinos), and Fox News was very happy to become the Radko gudas 90s style 2023 shirt and I love this loudpiece through which Trump reaches his fanatical followers. But something happened which Trump did not anticipate: He became dependent on Fox News. No other network is willing to allow him to spew his nonsense any longer – they all started fact-checking him and criticizing him and disputing his claims and playing back tapes where he contradicts himself. So, Fox News now owns him. He has nowhere else to go. He has to be nice to them – he needs them to be able to reach his cult followers.
