I don’t think Disney Plus is a big threat to Netflix and other OTT platforms. Disney Plus will only have family-friendly content that is fully only owned by The Walt Disney Company (e.g. Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Simpsons, National Geographic, Pixar). This would make is too much of a niche player to be a big threat to more established OTT platforms. However, I think The Walt Disney Company is a big threat to Netflix and other OTT platforms. Disney has not only begun pulling out their popular content from Netflix, Hollywood’s other big players (e.g. Comcast’s NBCUniversal, AT&T’s Warner Media) has seemingly followed suit.
