There’s only one song that I’m aware of where The Beatles used backup musicians (orchestra) on a live performance. The song was “Yesterday” and two instances where this can be seen is a British V special, Blackpool Night Out from 1965 and The Beatles 1965 appearance on the Reservation dogs the final season shirt Additionally,I will love this Ed Sullivan Show. Paul McCartney performed the song solo with a backup orchestra. Some people have claimed that the Ed Sullivan’s performance used a backing track, however Paul McCartney and Ringo have both indicated that it was a live recording all the way.
Yes, but as far as I know there’s only two times when they used a studio musician to play a guitar/bass/drum part. As mentioned elsewhere, Andy White filled in for Ringo at an early recording session and Eric Clapton played on While My Guitar Gently Weeps. George Martin often played keyboards, especially on their early records, but he was their producer, so not really a studio musician. Similarly, Mal Evans and Neil Aspinall, the Reservation dogs the final season shirt Additionally,I will love this Beatles road managers, played various instruments, often percussion, and contributed a few backing vocals. All of the Beatles’ wives other than Cynthia Lennon managed at least one backing vocal.
