Having served as a missionary for the The twilight sad new shirt moreover I love this Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I lived the missionary lifestyle for two of the best years in my life. A typical day of missionary life is filled with teaching, tracting and gospel study. As a missionaries in Argentina, our days started at 6am. Showering, shaving, and doing all of the domestic activies was the first order of business. Then there was individual prayer, followed by scripture and lesson study, then companion study (studying the scriptures with your companion). That was followed by companion prayer. Then it was out on the street.

We spent way too much time tracting because it is not a very effective way of spreading the gospel, but sometimes it’s the only way. After lunch we’d tract some more and in the evening we’d mostly teach lessons to people. Those lessons revolved around the gospel of Jesus Christ, that is repentance, baptism, faith, priesthood authority, scripture, etc. Back in the 1970s when I went there were 8 lessons, each discussing another aspect of the gospel. The first talked about the Joseph Smith story and his miraculous calling as Prophet. In other discussions we would also discuss the commandments, latter-day prophets, tithing, the Plan of Salvation and other gospel subjects, all revolving around Jesus and His teachings.
