Very small prey. I used to raise baby spiders and normally would feed them Drosophila melanogaster fruit flies sold at places like Petco. Once they got larger, I would switch them over to pinhead crickets, which I raised. Sometimes, when I fed my babies, I would accidentally drop in a cricket almost twice as big as the Official 68 Jp france rec specs and stache shirt besides I will buy this spider. The spider would jump on its’ back and ride it around the container until it was able to sink its’ fangs in and envenomate the cricket. Even though the cricket was bigger than the spider, the spider usually won the wrestling match. Spiders are pretty strong and can subdue prey larger than themselves. Of course, it helps to have fangs with which to inject venom. I wish I would have made a video of those events, as they were similar to a cowboy riding a bucking bronco at a rodeo. 🙂 Cockroaches are the feeder item of choice for my tarantulas. They are easy to breed, less stinky and noisy than crickets, and less likely to injure my spiders.
Spiders eat whatever they can kill, most such as your common house spider, jumping spiders (they can kill and eat black widows by the Official 68 Jp france rec specs and stache shirt besides I will buy this way), garden spiders, and other small..ish..spiders eat insects, lots of them. Some do. Cockroaches are the favorite food of Brown Recluses, for instance. Not too many spiders can handle an adult roach, but a number of spiders can eat smaller roaches. Various House Spiders, for instance. Cockroaches breed pretty fast, though, so they can easily outbreed any predators which might control them, and most pest-control companies kill off spiders more effectively than roaches. When the roaches come back (and they generally do), they have fewer predators to keep their numbers down. If you are seeing House Centipedes and House Spiders, though, you have a pretty decent chance at keeping the roaches under control.
