There’s something they seem to be ignoring, however: Hillary has less support from outside the Democratic base than Bernie. He polls better with independents and Republicans than she does. I have not yet seen a Republicans for Hillary site (edit 2016Mar3: I have now seen one FB page, with under 400 likes); I have seen more than a few for Bernie. I have not seen any recent head-to-head polls showing Donald Trump with a lead over Bernie Sanders in the general election. Dozens and dozens of polls show Bernie Sanders crushing Donald Trump by much wider margins than Hillary Clinton, well outside the margin of error. Hillary usually defeats Trump in these polls as well, but not by as wide a margin–sometimes within the margin of error, and a few times tied or behind.
