With a central turret, there is some overhang of the gun but relatively little. It also has better gun depression than the Elefant while being much lower in height. The driver needs to be up front. That leaves the center for a weapons station. Since the driver doesn’t take up who entire front of the vehicle, the engine usually goes up front, beside the driver.
